Feb. 25--After years of discussion and speculation, Lewisville is about to get its first convention center.
Mayor Gene Carey announced an agreement with Second Century Investments to pursue a hotel and convention center at his annual state-of-the-city address on Tuesday. The City Council approved a letter of intent to pursue the deal at its Monday meeting. The council could negotiate final details and approve formal agreements by next month.
