SINCE BMW introduced its high-tech, high-styled R1200C in 1998, the Cruiser has gained a small but loyal following. If you wished to customize it, however; you were up against the "not available here" syndrome. Only a handful of bolt-ons were available from BMW and a few other companies.
Until now. The little beauty you see here has been festooned with numerous items from GG Techniks, a BMW dealer in Switzerland, and is called the Cruso. The package is distributed in the States by Eurotech Motorsports of Chico, California, and can turn your R1200 Cruiser into the bike pictured at right, either totally or partially, depending upon your needs and the depth of your wallet.
I was able to savor the Cruso for a weekend, and found it a gorgeous, functional motorcycle. Sure, I would have suggested a more striking color than the gray shown (the components are delivered primed, but not painted), but it was a kick to ride--similar to a stock R1200C, but with a much greater "Wow!" factor.
