FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ Shaq is just about back.

But when the center returns, he'll find an altered landscape.

On one of the most eventful days of an eventful season, the Heat on Thursday:

_Said that an MRI on Shaquille O'Neal's ailing left knee revealed nothing more than a very mild sprain, with the center likely back in the lineup within a week.

_Traded fourth-year power forward Malik Allen to the Charlotte Bobcats for 35-year-old 3-point specialist Steve Smith, the former Heat guard who was the franchise's 1991 first-round pick.

_Prepared to welcome Alonzo Mourning back to the franchise, with the center possibly to be signed in time for Friday's practice at AmericanAirlines Arena.
