Feb. 23--Trying to stay a giant step ahead of its competitors, Apple slashed the prices of its mega-selling iPods by as much as 25 percent.
The trendy high-end computer maker cut the price of its basic iPod mini by $50 to $199 and introduced another mini with more memory that can play 1,500 songs, priced at $249.
