INDIANAPOLIS _ Quarterback Jay Fiedler's five-season tenure with the Dolphins has ended.
Fiedler was one of four released Wednesday as the Dolphins moved to get under the salary cap of $85.5 million.
The Dolphins also terminated the contracts of free safety Arturo Freeman and defensive end Jay Williams. Safety Shawn Wooden was released/failed physical and is expected to retire because of a back injury.
Fiedler's release was expected since late last season because of his 2005 cap number of $6.35 million and his status as a starter having ended with the emergence of A.J. Feeley.
