INDIANAPOLIS _ Tuesday's gloom regarding Shaquille O'Neal turned to Wednesday's optimism.

While the Heat won't have a definitive read on the status of its ailing center until after an MRI on Thursday in South Florida, those closest to the situation downplayed the possibility of major trauma regarding O'Neal's left knee.

"Ron doesn't think it's anything serious," coach Stan Van Gundy said after consulting with trainer Ron Culp.
