JUPITER, Fla. _ On a day when the St. Louis Cardinals honored the past, they welcomed several key newcomers.
George Kissell is starting his 66th season as a Cardinal. A plaque honoring his years of service was unveiled Wednesday just before the Cardinals took the field for their first full-squad workout.
Among those at the ceremony for the 84-year-old Kissell were shortstop David Eckstein and second baseman Mark Grudzielanek, the National League champions' new middle infield.
