Feb. 23--There really is no such thing as bad press.

Overseas outsourcing was one of the most popular targets of political ire last year, but the top executive at one of India's biggest technology firms said the furor only boosted his company's visibility.

Azim Premji, chairman of Wipro Ltd., said during a Dallas stop that overseas outsourcing is more important than ever for U.S. corporations.

"I think the process of the U.S. election and all the attention outsourcing got has really been a positive," Mr. Premji said, "the side effect of that being an enormous amount of brand building."

There's no doubt that business is booming right now for Indian companies like Wipro.
