Feb. 23--Dell Inc.'s decision to build a plant in southeastern Forsyth County helped convince a South Carolina real-estate developer to purchase land in Union Cross Business Park.

Johnson Development Associates Inc. said yesterday that it has a contract to buy about 40 acres involving three lots in the park.

Bob Leak Jr., the president of Winston-Salem Business Inc., said that the group would pay about $1.9 million in all for the properties based on a price of $47,500 an acre.
