Feb. 22--The former Lincoln School's auditorium was the only room that was safe Monday from the relentless deconstruction work being done as part of the $7.9 million Roosevelt-Lincoln renovation project.

The auditorium will remain as a place for functions and entertainment, said Pat Blake of Kansas City-based JE Dunn Construction. The company is managing the project to convert the former Roosevelt-Lincoln Middle School into a 61-unit senior housing complex.
