Feb. 21--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Lovelace Sandia Health System eliminated 52 employees' jobs Friday and offered transfers to 42 other employees as part of what it called a regular business operations review.

The health services company emphasized that none of the affected employees provided patient care.

"These changes fall within the administrative services areas and do not impact direct patient care," said Lovelace Sandia president Norm Becker in a prepared statement. "Lovelace Sandia continues to be a financially healthy and economically viable organization." …
