Feb. 15--Domestic partners in West Palm Beach will soon enjoy some of the same rights as married couples.
City commissioners on Monday unanimously approved a domestic partner registry ordinance to go into effect Feb. 24.
"I'm a big supporter of this," commission President Kimberly Mitchell said. "I think this is the right thing to do."
The city joins Key West, Broward County and Miami Beach as the local governments in Florida with domestic partner registries.
