Rural obstetricians in Oregon will soon get a break on their malpractice insurance premium rates due to legislation about to be signed by the governor. Under the legislation, the State Accident Insurance Fund (SAIF) Corporation would provide a reduced-cost reinsurance program for carriers that provide medical liability insurance to rural physicians.
