Sort of . . . disheveled royalty," says Malia Jones, groping for the right words to describe the Rick Owens jacket she wore for Vogue on a Southern California beach. Jones, a celebrated surfer, adored the jacket for its offhand, upscale-vagabond air. "The way it fit made it seem like part of my body." Styled white-on-white with shorts and a couple of layered tanks, the jacket looked a lot less hard-edged than it had on the runway. "Lately I've become more interested in clothes that will last," she says, "instead of just being cute and then gone."
