Feb. 27--RECORD PLEDGE SEEN IN CRYSTAL BALL: Crystal Charity Ball has pledged a record $3,534,177 for six agencies from its next December gala.
2001 Crystal Charity Ball chairwoman Nancy Chapman notes that this year's goal is higher than last year's $3,479,012.
This all-volunteer organization has raised more than $40 million for children's charities since it was founded in 1952. Underwriting chairwoman Pam McCallum listed the following recipients:
Baylor Health Care System Foundation -- $593,255 for Baylor University Medical Center's purchase of 12 state-of-the-art Ohmeda Giraffe OmniBeds for the Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and support for a...
