Feb. 28--CONTEST HAS DESIGNS ON MAKEOVER OF SCHOOL: Architects are competing to create a $40 million-plus artistic makeover of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, whose graduates have cut a swath in the art world.
Mardi M. Rendell, spokeswoman of the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects, says next Wednesday is the deadline for the Request for Qualifications from interested designers.
This is Step 1 in the process of selecting the architects, which will be completed by the end of March, she said.
