Feb. 21--Continuing a feud with tax-supported Jackson Memorial Hospital, seven Miami hospitals have filed a lawsuit seeking government money to subsidize their cost of providing indigent care.
The seven hospitals filed the suit this month in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, seeking to force the County Commission to recognize a state law passed last summer that would divert some tax money now earmarked for the publicly run Jackson Memorial Hospital to private hospitals with heavy indigent loads.
