Feb. 20--Stephen Kahn was unable to celebrate his 100th birthday Sunday with Dallas Symphony Orchestra stalwarts because of a "touch of pneumonia." But the retired Dallas oilman was still the man of the hour for his $6 million contribution to the DSO's successful $55 million-plus Visions 2000 Campaign.

The gift, which was made in the names of Mr. Kahn and his wife, Fannie , who died in 1996, was the largest of the Vision 2000 campaign.

The observance was held after a brunch at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

Also applauded Sunday on her birthday was longtime DSO booster Margaret McDermott.
