KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. _ Jan-Michael Gambill, the inveterate Trekkie from Spokane, Wash., who won the Citrix at Delray Beach 17 days ago, hummed his way Tuesday into the quarterfinals at the Ericsson Open with his 10th win in his last 11 matches.

As successful as he's been, though, he's gotten lost somewhere between Andy Roddick's coming-out party and the continuing Williams family controversies.

Gambill and Andre Agassi are the hottest players on the ATP Tour and Gambill's 20-7 record gives him the third most victories this year behind Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Lleyton Hewitt, both with 23.

Early on Day 7 of this particularly intriguing Ericsson, the tour's biggest Star Trek fan smacked down speedy Jonas Bjorkman 6-1, 6-2 to set up a final eight match on Wednesday...
