MIAMI _ Even now, the Heat still is not whole.

But it's a whole lot better than it was two days ago.

This is closer to what coach Pat Riley envisioned in August, when he ripped apart what had been a successful regular-season roster in a bid to create a championship roster.

Riley's ultimate blueprint was built around Alonzo Mourning. Finally, after a five-month wait, Riley has his man in the middle.

Now, once he gets shooting guard Eddie Jones back from a dislocated left shoulder, Riley can implement the schemes that had laid dormant during Mourning's absence.
