When food columnist Linda Gassenheimer found out her husband, Hal, had problems losing a few pounds he'd gained on vacation and that his cardiologist had told him his triglycerides were at an all-time high and his cholesterol was creeping up, she began to worry.
But when Hal announced he was going on a low-carbohydrate diet, she decided to help. So she talked to dietitians and doctors and experimented with recipes. Then she wrote "Low-Carb Meals in Minutes" (Bay Books, 2000).
