FORT LAUDERDALE _ In seven seasons as coach of the Green Bay Packers, Mike Holmgren, with General Manager Ron Wolf, drafted six quarterbacks and traded for one.
The first quarterback he obtained, in a deal with Atlanta in 1992, was Brett Favre, who is going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The last, sixth-rounder (1998) Matt Hasselbeck, is going to lead the Seattle Seahawks out of Averageland this year.
There has been a lot of focus this offseason on Brad Johnson, Troy Aikman, Trent Dilfer, Trent Green and Ray Lucas _ all available in one way or another. Yet the Hasselbeck trade will be the most important transaction of the season.
