Mar. 21--SONY'S TURNING DOWN THE VOLUME on big-time rap label Loud Records.
Frustrated with its paltry profits, Sony Music has ordered cutbacks at Loud, the home of Wu Tang Clan and deceased rapper Big Pun, music industry sources said.
Starting this week, Loud will fire about 20 staffers, or 20 percent of its workforce, and some divisions will be consolidated with Sony mega-label Columbia Records.
