Mar. 15--It has been five years since Ian Schrager transformed the Delano Hotel from Dilapidated Deco to Instant Scene.
With its white gauze curtain walls, 40-foot mahogany doors, Dali-esque furniture, a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids decor, and fabulously famous guests, the Delano, at 16th Street and Collins, remains the crowd-pleaser. No matter Madonna throws her parties elsewhere. No matter competition's springing up all over South Beach.
