Mar. 16--Vitech America, a Miami company that is the leading producer of computer products in Brazil, has filed a lawsuit in federal court against Gateway, accusing the computer giant of fraud, misrepresentation and breach of contract.
Vitech claimed in its suit, filed March 9, that various actions by Gateway were part of a scheme to engineer Vitech's technical default on two convertible loans that could eventually lead to Gateway's takeover of the Miami company.
