Mar. 23--The lack of Argentine beef isn't a major problem for restaurateur Pedro Gara.

The owner of Tango Grill in Key Biscayne already had been buying much of his beef from the United States, instead of importing it from Argentina.

Since Argentine beef was banned in the United States last week because of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, Gara has begun using local beef to replace the approximately 90 pounds a week of Argentine beef he typically ordered. He doesn't expect customers to notice.

"Argentinian is a way of cooking; it's not specific to the meat," said Gara, whose restaurant has been in business for more than eight years. "The main trick is the way we cut and cook the meat. I have local people that cut...
