Mar. 27--TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Day One of the Comair pilots' strike -- which has led to the cancellation of all flights today through 11 a.m. Wednesday -- spoiled the plans of many commuters, among them South Florida lawmakers who had to get back to the state capital after a weekend at home.
Rep. Ralph Arza, R-Miami, drove the 500 miles to Tallahassee. Three Broward lawmakers flew up on a state-owned prop plane sent to pick them up. Miami Republican Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart and Marco Rubio took a U.S. Airways flight that got them to Tallahassee -- but an hour late for a lunch with Gov. Jeb Bush.
