Mar. 25--Travelers who prefer a paper ticket to an electronic reservation will soon find an additional $10 charge added onto their air fare with American Airlines Inc.
The Fort Worth-based carrier said Friday that it would not release details about the policy because of antitrust rules against price signaling.
"We are declining comment," said American spokesman John Hotard.
The new fee is expected to begin April 9, making American the first airline to charge passengers for selecting a paper ticket.
Travel agents said they haven't been told of the policy change.
