Mar. 22--Miami's effort to extend its parking surcharge to help pay for a Florida Marlins stadium received a blow Wednesday when downtown parking executives said they would fight the move.
As part of the Florida Marlins' plan to build a $385 million ballpark, city officials pledged last week to try to persuade the Legislature to extend the surcharge from its scheduled end in 2004 through the life of the team's stadium lease.
