Apr. 12--Janet Reno -- whose eight years as attorney general thrust her into such hot cases as the Elian Gonzalez custody battle and the deadly standoff in Waco -- is completing a book deal with Random House believed to be worth around $500,000, publishing sources said yesterday.
The talks with Reno have been off industry radar screens, because she likely went directly to Random House instead of making the customary rounds of New York publishing houses....
