Apr. 11--Wall Street's optimism that techs can still earn money sent the Dow Jones industrial average yesterday to its first close above 10,000 since mid-March and the Nasdaq composite index to its third-biggest gain this year.
Many investors were betting on Motorola's profit report due after the closing bell, bidding up shares of the damaged mobile phone maker 13 percent, or $1.50, to $13.
