Apr. 18--Yahoo, the Web giant and new economy icon, has named as its new chairman and CEO the former Warner Bros. co-chief Terry Semel, one of Old Hollywood's genuine moguls.
Semel, who with partner Bob Daly ran the Warner movie studio for two decades, will take the reins from longtime Yahoo CEO Tim Koogle, who stepped down last month amid profit shortfalls and an online ad market that's turned ice cold.
