Apr. 30--Guillermo Quirch Sr. spent 25 years waiting to build a new refrigerated warehouse for his food distribution company, Quirch Foods.
Two weeks ago his dream became a reality when the family-run business threw open the doors of a new 120,000 square-foot warehouse housing one of the largest industrial freezers in South Florida -- it can hold some 12,000 pallets filled with food products.
Gone are the constraints of a rented warehouse in northern Miami-Dade where products are stored haphazardly and where the company's 47 refrigerated trucks have to wait to load and unload because there are only nine doors.
In its place is a state-of-the-art facility that features a 60-foot wide refrigerated loading dock -- to ease...
