Apr. 27--The Nasdaq announced plans yesterday to be the first U.S. stock market to sell its own shares to the public, with trading likely to begin on the Nasdaq itself sometime next year.
"Offering shares to the public is a natural next step in the evolution of Nasdaq. When the time is right, we will do it," said its chairman, Frank Zarb.
