May 20--GREEN BAY, Wis.--Robert Pfeil knows the rendering industry is not glamorous.
"It's not one where people would first think they want to work," said the chief financial officer and treasurer for Anamax Corp.
Couple that with plenty of open jobs and no people to fill them, the independent renderer knew it faced a challenge to retain and recruit employees.
Two years ago, Anamax, 2099 Shawano Ave., instituted a program to make the company an employer of choice.
"I doubt we'll ever be the employer of choice, but we can be an employer of choice," Pfeil said. "You have to be as good as others; you have to be better."
