May 17--It may only be spring, but visions of holiday sales are already dancing in the heads of video game console makers.
Microsoft announced yesterday that it would launch its long-awaited Xbox on Nov. 8, while rival Nintendo's GameCube will beat it to the market by three days -- both in time for the Christmas shopping season, and both gearing up for a showdown with rival Sony.
