May 31--QUESTION: Is it possible for me to have my own Web site, my own server and my own domain (still not sure what that is)? I want to maintain my own Web site without having an Internet service provider.
Also, what Web sites provide information on this?

ANSWER: You can certainly have your own Web site. There are plenty of programs that simplify the creation of Web pages, which are documents written in Hypertext Markup Language, or HTML.
HTML commands tell your browser how to display Web page contents. You can create pretty complex Web pages with easy text editors such as Wordpad and Simpletext.
You can also get your own domain name, a string of characters that identifies a Web site on the Internet (www.dallasnews.com is an example). For $35 per year, you can register your domain name through a company such as Network Solutions (www.networkso lutions.com) or Yahoo (domains. yahoo.com).
