May 30--A rising number of adults signed up for health insurance on the job even as health insurance premiums soared in 1998 and 1999, according to a report released Tuesday by the nonpartisan Employee Benefit Research Institute.

The percentage of working adults opting for employer-based insurance rose to 73.3 percent in 1999 from 72.2 percent in 1994, the report showed....
