May 27--Transmedia Network's future lies in its ability to get hungry diners in its affiliate restaurants and more restaurants participating in its rewards program.
That's why the North Miami dining rewards company has spent the last two years trying to make itself a more attractive option for diners, restaurateurs and investors.
Since acquiring its major competitor, Dining a la Card, Transmedia tripled its membership base and is positioning itself for future growth with a deal to manage the dining programs for the nine largest airlines.
To reach out to consumers who often didn't understand the program, Transmedia rebranded its rewards program with a more relevant moniker, iDine. Diners also can now use any registered credit card to charge their meal, rather than the private-label Transmedia card identifying them as a member of a discount club.
