May 27--On top of an expansion program now forecast to cost $6 billion, Miami International Airport has an additional $1.3 billion worth of projects that need funding, a new staff analysis shows.
The projects would repair and upgrade existing facilities as well as add to the airport's expansion, said Angela Gittens, MIA's director.
The analysis confirms a report from earlier this year that MIA's expansion will cost $6 billion, not the $5.4 billion previously forecast, and also creates the $1.3 billion laundry list of additional items that are needed by 2010.
