May 27--Nancy Washington felt confused by the behavior of some of the residents she cared for at the nursing home.
Some days they radiated joy and warmth. Other times they bickered and wandered aimlessly.
"I didn't understand them, and I wasn't always patient with them," said Ms. Washington, 33, a certified nursing assistant at IHS of Arlington.
