McKinney, Texas, Airport Could Help Regional Economy Take Off.

May 27--McKINNEY, Texas--When Boeing Co. executives looked at Plano, Frisco and Richardson in their search for a new corporate headquarters, the three cities had one boast in common: They're all close to McKinney Municipal Airport.
Boeing had scoped out the airport as a potential home for its corporate fleet. And even though the company's jets will end up being parked at an airport near Chicago, county officials said, Boeing's interest underscored the McKinney airport's importance to the regional economy.
"The McKinney airport is the next step in building a great transportation system for our region," said Collin County Judge Ron Harris, who served on the Boeing task force. "For some larger corporations that need access to private jets conveniently, it's essential."
Boeing got away, but the airport did win one...
