May 25--FORT WORTH, Texas--The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the world's great music dramas, has played out every four years since 1962 on the tree-shaded campus of Texas Christian University. But starting Friday, the action moves to a very different stage, in the heart of downtown Fort Worth.
All performances in the 2001 Cliburn, the 11th, are being held in Bass Performance Hall, at Fourth and Commerce, an easy stroll from hotels, coffee bars, bookstores and restaurants.
