May 25--DANCE, LESSONS ARE ON TAP AT FESTIVAL: The nonprofit Dance Council has scheduled an entertaining program of tap Saturday -- much of it free and open to the public -- as the whole country observes the 13th annual National Tap Dance Celebration: Tap 2001.
Dance Council executive director Cindy Denmark, noting that tap is "a unique American dance form," says the local celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to about 8 p.m. in the Grand Salon (the annex on the east side) of Cathedral Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave. at Pearl Street downtown.
