Jun. 20--Advertising exec Linda Kaplan Thaler, the brains behind Clairol's shampoo-as-aphrodisiac "Urge to Herbal" commercials, credits her success to a cherished secret weapon: her 1960s Bronx upbringing.
"We had no theater, no ballet. We rarely even went into Manhattan," she said. "We were always just hanging out with friends, making up our own entertainment."
