Big changes at the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society promise to make professional tournament fishing more exciting and more competitive.

Montgomery, Ala.-based B.A.S.S. was purchased by ESPN a little over two weeks ago. This past week, B.A.S.S. announced that it will have new sponsors and a new format for anglers to get to the BASS Masters Classic, regarded as the Super Bowl of bass fishing.

Qualifying for the Classic, which this year will be held Aug. 2-4 in New Orleans, is currently based on overall performance on the different tournament trails run by B.A.S.S....
