Feb. 17--SANTA FE, N.M. -- At least five bills promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency are wending their way through the Roundhouse this session.
If successful, the measures would: Make it easier to build new transmission lines to ship wind-generated electricity to markets in New Mexico and other Western states; Increase the state tax credit for electricity produced from wind, solar or biomass projects; Give incentives for individuals and businesses to invest in solar generating systems; and Encourage energy-saving measures by utilities, schools and state agencies.
