Feb. 13--An announcement Thursday morning left some business leaders in a bit of shock. Ron Klaphake, who has led Greeley and Weld County's economic development efforts for the past five years -- and who is credited with persuading the Owens-Illinois bottle manufacturing plant to build in Windsor -- announced Thursday that he will leave Greeley by June.

Klaphake will continue his duties as president of the Economic Development Action Partnership until June 1, at which time he hopes to have helped find his replacement.
