Feb. 7--A new restaurant could open within a month in the former Hack's, a popular Bethlehem diner on E. Broad Street that closed in October after 15 years.

Allentown businessmen Paul Mazzucco and Matt Gilvey, who leased the building and bought the business in November as "a favor" to late owner Karen Kimber, said they have narrowed down the number of people who are vying to run the restaurant to four from the Lehigh Valley.

"All four deserve the place," said Mazzucco. "We have to decide who will carry on the tradition of what Hack's represented." …
