DETROIT, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- General Motors Corp. is pulling its U.S. prescription drug business from Walgreens, effective at the end of this month.

GM, which expects to spend about $7 billion this year on employee and beneficiary healthcare, has 1.1 million employees, retirees and their spouses and dependents in the United States, the Detroit Free Press said Friday.

Last year, GM spent about $1.5 billion on prescription drugs.
